It's funny, I live over by Pratt and I've noticed more students smoking outside the main gate than vaping. I would jokingly say "The kids are into cigarettes again!"
Alcohol is the current villain du jour, while smoking seems to be acceptable and cool.

I lived by the New School a few years ago and noticed the same thing! Fashion/art kids definitely at the forefront of this.
